Who needs a Mullayanagiri entry pass?

Anyone taking a private or hired vehicle to Mullayanagiri Peak or Inam Dattathreya Peeta needs a pre-booked pass. This applies to visitors driving from Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, or any other city — Karnataka and out-of-state number plates alike. The system regulates daily vehicle numbers to reduce congestion on the narrow hill road and protect the Baba Budangiri range.

Time slots and daily vehicle limits

Entry is split into two half-day slots. Only a limited number of vehicles are allowed per slot — book early, especially for Saturday–Sunday and long weekends. If your preferred slot shows as full, try the other half of the day or an adjacent date.

Bangalore to Mullayanagiri is about 270 km via NH75 (roughly 5–5.5 hours). Most visitors leave Bangalore early Friday night or by 4–5 AM on Saturday to make a morning slot. Book your pass first, then plan fuel and breakfast stops at Hassan or Belur.
